First Thing I See by Vi Keeland

What To Read After 50 Shades...

Life changed for me three times in my life -  the day my mother died, the day my dad married Candice and the day I met Kennedy Jenner.

From the moment I saw him, I was drawn to him.  Like a moth to a flame, I couldn't keep away from the irresistible heat of the fire. That knowing, confident smile...those beautiful pale blue eyes...and those dimples....simply delicious. Who could resist such a beautiful strong man?

Hope York transformed herself from boring small town girl into a flawless beauty on the outside. But inside, she never changed.  Kennedy Jenner was a successful, wealthy and jaw dropping handsome man that could have whatever he wanted, on his own terms. And he wanted Hope. But would he still want her after he saw her for who she really was, instead of what she carefully planned for everyone to see? And will his own secret past stand in his way for getting what he really wants?

FANS OF FIFTY SHADES OF GREY AND BARED TO YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROMANTIC, EROTIC STORY.

What readers are saying:

"After falling in love with fifty shades of grey I needed something to close to it. A good runner up!"

"I really enjoyed this book. It got my attention from the beginning and I just couldn't put it down. This is not a Cinderella kind of novel, it's about two people with different backgrounds that fall in love."

"I absolutely loved this book from the very beginning. The only time I became upset was when it was over. Kennedy's comments made me laugh out loud multiple times. I highly recommend this book."

Charming The Chieftain by Deanie Roman

"...an impressive debut novel"

Accused of witchery, Lady Elisande Cadby must submit to the Rite of Purification before wedding Baron Warford the Brutal. On the eve of her union, she flees Cadby Hall armed with an arsenal of Pagan-rooted curatives and her ever-present comfort-stone. With grudging assistance from a formidable chieftain who unsettles her senses, she embarks on a harrowing escape across the Borders in search of sanctuary.

Chieftain Aeden Maxwell would rather bed down with the hounds than concede he is enchanted by Elisande’s caramel-colored locks and feisty manner. After all, she is intended for his volatile older brother. Besides, Elisande’s unusual ideas and strange convictions are dangerous and he doesn’t need more trouble.

Once ensconced at Caeverlark Castle, Elisande is confronted by Aeden’s mistress, who spies on Elisande during a spirit cleansing ritual. Within days word of Elisande’s odd practices and peculiar beliefs cause a divide in the clan. Once more, accusations of witchery abound. However, Elisande has other worries to consider. With Aeden’s brother trying to force himself on her, a brutal killer hiding in plain sight intent upon Aeden’s death, and a disturbing truth behind a long-buried secret about to come to light, Elisande must dispel rumors and gain the clan’s trust before jealousy and betrayal destroy the man she loves.

Reviews:

"In a word, it's wonderful. Charming the Chieftain is an impressive debut novel. My only regret, when I finished it, was that I'd reached The End."

"The author pulls you in and takes you to the time and place of Aeden and Elisande. It's a great escape!"

Together Again by Peggy Bird

~Spicy Suspense~

Deputy DA Margo Keyes is looking forward to this trip with as much enthusiasm as she’d have for a root canal. There’s the Philly summer heat, the high school reunion she’d rather avoid, and the speech she’d be giving as a last-minute stand-in for her boss. Mostly there’s facing high school crush Tony Alessandro. When she’d last seen the Philly cop, he’d danced her out of his sister’s wedding reception to a dark room where he’d kissed her senseless. If his nephew hadn’t interrupted they’d have . . . well, who knows?

Tony had disappeared on some family errand. She went home to Portland, Oregon the next day. She hadn’t heard from him since.

However, her homecoming turns out better than expected. The reunion and the speech work out. Even better, when she and Tony pick up where they left off in that dark room, the only heat that’s unbearable is what they generate in bed.

Margo returns to Portland wondering if she and Tony have started something she might not be ready for, relieved she’s put a whole continent between them to give her breathing room to sort it. Then his work with a federal task force investigating industrial espionage brings him to Portland. And an accidental swap of messenger bags on her flight home puts her in the middle of the investigation.

Tony wants her out of the way of the bad guys and focused on him. She wants to use a secret from her past to wrap up the case. And maybe avoid having to think about what’s happening between them. They can’t both win. Or can they?

What readers are saying about Book 3 of the Second Chances Series:

"5-Stars for a steamy story about second chances."

"Romance and crime…what a mix!"

The Sixth Wife by Laura Lond

Delicious!

Adelia has no one to blame for her heartache. She’d been cautioned, many times and by many people. Everyone except her mother had told her it was folly to marry an elf, citing a host of reasons. Adelia knew their warnings were not unfounded. She knew he was very different from her and her kind, he was much older, and he’d had five other wives before her. She didn’t care. She had chosen her path.

What readers are saying:

"Delicious! I'm dying for more!"

"Refreshing and unique faerie storie."

"This is a great story… this was definitely one novella that left me wanting more. I hope that the author will write a full-length novel picking up where The Sixth Wife leaves off."

Lost Then Found by Christina Freeburn

New Beginnings Book One

Renee Stratford-Knight's life is finally becoming stable again. Eighteen months ago, the murder of her sister and the soon-to-follow collapse of her marriage left Renee reeling. She made it through those dark days with the help of family, embracing faith and starting her own skip-tracing business, New Beginnings, which specializes in relocating abused women. Now, her ex-husband -- and former business partner -- Jonas Knight shows up asking about her most vulnerable client.

Jonas knows his ex-wife helped embezzler Gina Howard elude the authorities, and he plans to bring the young woman to justice. When Renee is threatened, Jonas grows suspicious of his client's reason for hiring him to find Gina. In order to uncover the secrets their clients hold, Jonas and Renee must struggle through distrust and the pain of their pasts to work together to save the life of a teenage girl -- and their own.

Review:

"What I liked best about the novel was how the inspirational message grew organically within the storytelling so I didn't feel like I was "preached" to. Freeburn does two things well - entwining the "lost" immediacy of Gina's plight with the "lost" aching between Renee and Jonas over their failed marriage, attacking both issues, then showing the showing the journey for all to be "found," giving the title a two-fold meaning.

The novel is "sweet" for romance readers with Jonas and Renee sharing a kiss or two. Overall, "Lost Then Found" is a pulse-pounding read that will resonate with the reader long after they've finished the story."

But he never dreams she is an English spy and that her presence in Spanish St. Augustine will put both their lives in deadly peril.

Review:

5-Stars! "I was intrigued by the setting of this novel having visited the very fort that is the main setting. Colonial St. Augustine was a fascinating period and I felt the author did a terrific job of portraying it. The Spanish Capitan is a wonderful hero and very much in keeping with a man of his station during that time period. The wonderful, spunky heroine who is determined to rescue her twin brother is very much the hero's match. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these two characters earn their happily-ever-after!"
