Another Chance by Janet Cooper

Historical Time Travel

Sarah Tawkes has found her dream house; a former roadside tavern built near the Brandywine River. The home includes a completely refurbished full-length bar in the Common Room. Even her neighbor’s children are excited about the prospect of there being 200 year-old ghosts, among them British soldiers and Indians, haunting the long ago Inn.

After a costume party to celebrate her new home, Sarah, the director of a historical museum, awakes to discover herself transported back in time to the 18th Century… without running water, heat or tooth brushes… definitely all negative, But, a handsome, dark-eyed Indian balances the scale. She can’t take her eyes off of Silver Wolf, and wonders what it would be like to live with a Lenape Indian family on his ancestral plantation?

In the 18th Century this simply isn’t done by any decent Quaker woman, even if a war is waging all around them. Yet, Sarah has lost her heart to this dark-eyed savage who has his own reasons for hating all whites.

If she follows her desire what will happen to her prior life in the 21st Century? This fear haunts her every move and influences each decision she makes.

Reviews:

"Janet Cooper's lastest historical romance adds a bit of mystery to a fast-paced tale about the early days of the Coast Guard. You'll love her heroine, a colonial widow who's also a mid-wife who rescues the hero after a terrible NorthEaster hits the East coast..."

"I really enjoyed this story - great character conflict and interesting historical details made this plot come alive. Going to look for other books by this author!"
