The Case of the Flashing Fashion Queen by N.L. Wilson

A Dix Dodd Mystery

Fed up with being kicked around, Dix Dodd quits her job at the big P.I. agency where she's worked for years and hangs out her own shingle at the ripe age of 40. There are plenty of cheating husbands to go around and Dix has a knack for busting them. The guys back at the old firm are laying bets about how soon she'll come crawling back, and Dix quickly learns that this self-employed business doesn't pay much.

Then Dylan Foreman enters her life.

The minute she learns that Dylan was fired from his law firm and disbarred for putting common decency before the firm's interests, Dix hires him on the spot. Anyone can see the man is smart. The fact that he's gorgeous enough to remind her she's a woman is just whipped cream on the cupcake. And at 28, he's young enough to make her feel like a total cougar.

Business starts hopping when Dix is hired by a millionaire's wife who suspects her husband is cheating. Tailing a man 24/7 for a cool ten grand should be easy-peasy, right? Wrong! Dix finds herself mired in a murder investigation, and she is the prime suspect. The officer in charge of the case? Well, that would be none other than Richard Head (a.k.a. Detective Dickhead, a cheating husband she's nailed in the past), and he's gunning for her.

Dix will need all her ingenuity, as well as the help of Dylan and an oddball cast of supporters, if she's to extricate herself from this maddening and murderous mess.

  1. I've been wanting to read Norah's mysteries. Will add this to my towering cyber TBR file. Coming from Norah, I know it will be good.
